Statement

A work of art without an emotional element makes no sense to me at all.

I have been working across mediums: smell, video, performance, writing, installation, sculpture and painting – to create narratives that explore the contrast between presence/absence, memory/forgetfulness.

Working this way have led me to investigate social interactions and treasured memories. Proceeded by a process of research and investigation into the social, historical, and phenomenological conditions of a site, I am interested in creating works context that are responsive or context-sensitive, therefore a direct reaction to the specific sites and surroundings into which it fits.

Because my practice often responds to its site I engage not only with museums and galleries as places of production and exhibition, but also with less-traditional sites such as domestic, and public spaces.
