Kooshk Residency & Artistes en Residence (Clermont-Ferrand), offers for the first time this year a double residency for an artist from Tehran and an artist from Clermont-Ferrand.
– For Iranian artist, the residency period is one month in April 2015
– For French artist, the residency period is one month in June 2015
Both artists can meet each other and introduce each other to their own socio-cultural context. This model also allows the possibility to dialogue, exchange and collaborate.
The artists selected by Kooshk Residency & Artistes en Residence will be provided with:
– A studio and accommodation during the residency periods
– The possibility to organize a public event

Applicants will be evaluated by a committee of organizers mentioned above, based on their communication skills and teamwork abilities, potentials, CV and portfolio qualifications and their English proficiency and will be informed by e-mail within 10 days after the deadline. Artists under the age of 40 with an interest in interdisciplinary work will be considered first.
The project Artistes en Résidence began in May 2011 and aims at supporting visual artist by providing them with a work place, accommodation and financial assistance. The two main goals are research (studio work) and exchange (among different actors of the contemporary art, like David Dale Gallery, Glasgow). The curatorial space of the residency named “Permanence” can be used by each resident if need be. Clermont- Ferrand is situated in the centre of France, in the Auvergne region and in the Central Massif. It is surrounded by nature, more specifcally a chain of volcanoes. Clermont- Ferrand’s local art community is very hybrid and active and includes institutions: FRAC Auvergne, Contemporary Art Space La Tôlerie, In Extenso and the Ecole Supérieur de Clermont Métropole.
