Open Call for Iranian and Chinese Artists

Organhaus and Kooshk Residency present the third edition of exchange program between Tehran and Chongqing for two Chinese and Iranian visual artists. This exchange program exists out of two parts. The first part is held from 1st until 30th of December 2015, in Tehran, Iran.
During a residency of one month, two Chinese artists have the opportunity to work in Tehran – Iran, and collaborate with two Iranian artists. During these four weeks, the space will be open to a local public of artists, students, and art critics. The program will end with a presentation.

The second part will be held from 1 until 30th of April 2016, in Chongqing, China. The same Chinese and Iranian artists will participate in the second part. There will be a presentation at the end as well. The application is open for visual artists from China and Iran, interested in site-specific practices and the socio-cultural context of China and Iran.

Applicants have to be interested in exchanging ideas and consider the participation in both parts of the projects. Applicants will be evaluated by a committee of Organhaus and Kooshk by e-mail within 5 days after the deadline.
Kooshk and Organhaus will provide the living space, and the artists themselves will be in position to cover the expenses for airfare, insurance, medical coverage for the duration of the programme, any visa fee which should be incurred and the living expenses such as travel and food.

As a non-for-profit art institute, Organhaus is committed to promoting the development and practice of contemporary art, pioneering experimental art in China, and promoting international artist exchange and project implementation in China. The residency program’s purpose is to invite artists working in various mediums to work in Chongqing for a short period of time, exploring possibilities of expressions, and strengthening communications between local and international artists.
